Braingears - 9/30/2015 7:52 PM DUTCH - 9/30/2015 7:17 PM ILIAN - 9/30/2015 6:15 PM Couch Off Road engineering out of Colorado has it for $800 plus shipping. This is for a GKN shaft P/N 463 410 07 02 that fits 90's and early 00's G's. Not mercedes. Is that where Steve Dempsey is now working? Is that Steve Dempsey from EuroTruck? I just spoke to him a week or so ago. He used to work at EuroTruck.

G-AMG - 7/13/2014 1:36 PM At 70K, I would recommend you just change them, along with the CV Grease. You never know buying a used truck. I got my G500 with 84 K miles. I thought about doing the shaft a few times. We had the trans out last month and the intermediate shaft CVs and boots looked great, so we just refreshed the CV grease. Always drove like butter with no vibes until the trans grenaded.. Good as new now, or better

To add to this old thread, my 2000 G500 has 75k miles and has been in climate controlled storage since March of this year. I just got it out of storage and noticed a noise (similar to running an aggressive mud tread on pavement) and vibration above 1500rpm. I checked the intermediate shaft and both boots have elongated cracks. I'm leaving town again this week so the G will go to my indie mechanic for a shaft swap. 😒

Maybe a good idea to save the old shaft so you have a spare that you can R&R the CV joints on if MB keeps raising the prices for these prop shafts.
